Dr. Chen is a wonderful gentleman, who maintains his joyous spirit throughout his adventures. His presence elevated this trip to a special event. I would travel with him again anytime.
I've extracted the info below from his JCCC materials.
"Dr. Shudong Chen is Professor of Humanities at JCCC. He received both his master’s (1992) and doctorate (1998) in English from the University of Kansas and has been teaching courses in the Humanities at JCCC since1999. A Chinese native born in Shanghai, he came to the U.S. in 1990. Dr. Chen has authored a book on American literature and numerous articles and essays on cross-cultural dialogue. For conferences and field studies, he travelled in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, and New Zealand in addition to many trips to China since 2000. With other faculty members as co-leaders, Dr. Chen has led numerous well-received Exploring China tours, including the most recent one in summer 2012 to both China and Tibet."
